A "miracle" is an extraordinary or unusual event that is considered to be a manifestation of Divine power.
Last December I received a letter from some personal friends who are ministering to the poor and needy in the Philippines. These are not some weird folks that use fake tricks and magic to deceive the unexpecting. They are sincere honest people who have dedicated their lives to see others come to know and understand the love of God through Jesus Christ.
In a revival service, evangelist Sal Frutis had prayed for my friend Len Hummel for a dental miracle. Len didn't feel anything and went home thinking nothing had happened. To his surprise he went to a mirror and looked at his teeth. There it was - A Miracle - a creative miracle in pure gold. God had given Len a gold tooth - not a filling - a complete tooth, not a filling, a brand new tooth, a big back molar in pure gold!
I shared this miracle story with my next door neighbor who had been stationed in the Philippines several years with the United States Armed Forces. He told me that people in the Philippines often pull their teeth and replace them with gold ones as a status symbol, to mark them off as a person of importance. I believe God used that culture to mark out Len (through this miracle) as being His special ambassador and carrier of the gospel of Jesus Christ to that people. As I was telling this story to a friend and his six year old daughter, after seeing the pictures of the tooth she asked her father, "Daddy, How did God put that gold tooth in that man's mouth?" "I don't know honey, How does God hang the moon, sun or stars in the sky?" "Oh Daddy, that was easy - but a gold tooth!"
In the Bible when the apostle John wrote down the many miracles of Jesus Christ he said that the reason for him doing so was this: "These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His Name" (John 20:31).
Isn't it time that you started thinking about spiritual things and the salvation that God so freely offers? Have you ever considered turning to Him for the forgiveness of your sins? Accepting Him as your personal Savior and following Him as your Lord? He loves you and wants to give you the miracle of His Salvation!
